  1. The meridian is a concept central to traditional Chinese medical techniques such as acupuncture, and to martial arts such as tai chi and qigong.
  2. Essentially, meridians are a network of channels and vessels that form a system of energy or information adjustment in the human body.

  7. Traditional Chinese medical theory believes that meridians are responsible for supplying qi and blood to all parts of the body, controlling the balance of yin and yang, adjusting the functions of internal organs, and defending the body from diseases.
