SEO for your hubs
62
So your a good writer but still your hubs are not getting the recognition that they deserve, right?
In this hub I hope to share a little information that may help fellow hubbers improve the on-page and off-page SEO that will improve your hubs visibility in popular search engines, such as Google, Yahoo and Bing.
On-Page SEO
The most important on-page SEO tip I can recommend is when setting up your hub to make sure the Title and URL have the exact keywords you would like to be found in Google.
Hyper-linking keywords back to your hub, for example "SEO for your hubs" links back to this page, building the association with this key phrase in the search engines.
Be sure to use your tags. Tags are a fantastic way to spread your content across numerous pages, as they will also appear on the page for that particular tag.
Follow as many people as you can. Especially ones that have similar hubs to you. Why? Your profile link will be on their profile page. Meaning more exposure in the search engines and from other Hubpages users. This includes leaving comments and sending fan mail.
Off-Page SEO
Off-Page SEO refers to getting quality links back to your site.
This can be done by leaving comments on blogs and leaving your hub URL or using popular dofollow social bookmarking sites.
The more links you have that point back to your hub with your desired keywords, the better chance you have of getting your pages listed on page one for your keywords.
Too much competition? Niche!
Before you write up you next hub, it is best to check what sort of competition you are up against first. If there is way too much competition for your keyword, why not niche it?
Rather than writing a hub for say, "Best 7 Games for 2011", why not try "Best 7 First Person Shooter Games for 2011".
If there are still heavy competition for this niche, you may want to niche your niche, going for "Best 7 First Person Shooter Games for the Playstation 3 in 2011".
By doing this you increase your chances of gaining high search engine rankings for your niche content.
Get help with the Google Keyword Tool
Using the Google Keyword tool you can determine how much traffic you would receive. It can be a fantastic tool for helping hubbers decide which keywords to use.
It can show you how many global searches per month you could expect in Google and it can also display local results if your hub has geographical content.
With your hub highly placed in Google, you have better search engine exposure which can lead to higher revenue for your hubs.

A lot of good information. A little rough though. This might do well to be run through a word processor with readability filters on it.
