Christmas is getting closer.....

Planning your party can be a time consuming and stressful process.

But what I would like to focus on in this hub is there are free services around that can make your job much easier.

My last office Christmas party was a logistical nightmare! Key people held off on making early decisions which saw the venue being miles from our work location!

This year our company has taken a different approach to organising our Christmas Party Venue.

Why use a venue finding service?

By using a venue service you can cut hours of time searching though venues that promise the world but end up being a complete dive! Sure the pictures on the website show a nice sparkly venue, but when you drive out there you find the that the pictures possibly were taken 10 years ago, it's smack-bang in the center of an industrial area .... oh yeah, and it's right beside a local outlaw motorcycle gangs headquarters!!!

It's the information that these venues don't tell you that makes the task so hard!

This year we have gone with a free venue finding service. How does it work? We fill in a quick web form on the needs of our party, such as number of people, location, type of venue etc. and they got back to us within a couple of hours with a shortlist of venues to suit.

I was most happy to see none of the dodgy venues I had the displeasure of visiting last year. This service really saved a lot of time! I had the venue locked in record time, which is a relief as if you don't lock a venue in quick you can be back to square one again.

Free? Surely there is a catch?

You may be wondering how a services like this can stay in business if it doesn’t charge for its services? Most venues are happy to pay a small commission to these companies as a finder fee, for bringing the business to them. It is win/win for all parties concerned as:

  • The venue gets the extra business
  • The venue finding company gets the commission from the venue
  • The party organiser can take advantage of the free service and focus their efforts on more important aspects of organising the Christmas party.
